HURON — The Fair City will note the 246th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence on Monday, July 4, with a full slate of events taking place, sponsored by the Huron Chamber and Visitors Bureau.
The day begins at 10 a.m., with a vendor fair downtown in Campbell Park. Stop down early and do a little bargain hunting and then find a place along Dakota Ave., for the annual parade through the city, which gets underway at 10:30 a.m.
Stick around after the parade has passed, for a BBQ in the Park, beginning at 11:30, for $6.
That evening, stock car racing returns to Dakota State Fair Speedway at 7 p.m. and at 10 p.m., fireworks are planned at both Ravine Lake and Lake Byron.
To get information on having a vendor booth, an entry in the parade, contact the Chamber at 605-352-0000.
