I Made a Difference - 8-10

Posted

The fourth I Made a Difference award was presented to Kevin and Shelene McDonald, 343 Colorado Ave. S.W.

Each time you may have driven by the McDonald’s house in the past few years, you would see constant improvements.

They removed most of the old tennis courts next to the house and replaced it with dirt and grass. They removed many old trees and planted many beautiful flowers. They have put a beautiful wooden fence all around their yard, and replaced some fence that had gotten old on the north side of the house.

Shelene also has a wonderful garden with an archway opening. There is landscaping and flowers all around the yard. It’s like a hidden gem in Huron, you can’t help but smile at the beauty as you drive by.

They received a flag from the VFW Post 1776 and Auxiliary, gift certificates from East River Nursery, Dakota Provision and Lewis Drug, and a gift from Runnings. The IMAD program is sponsored by the Huron Community Improvement Committee.

Nomination forms can be found at the Huron Campus Center in the Park and Rec Office, on Huron’s web site or call/text Denise Matson at 353-4301 or email noelmatson@hur.midco.net. Thank you to all who have participated so far!
