MILLER — Ida Weideman, 93, of Miller, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society in Miller.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, March 16, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller.  Burial will follow in G.A.R. Cemetery at Miller.  Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday followed by a 7 p.m. prayer service, all at Reck Funeral Home of Miller.
Ida was born on February 21, 1925, to John and Christina (Mertz) Schock in Kulm, N.D.  She graduated from Miller High School in 1944. She attended the S.D. Beauty Academy in Sioux Falls. She was united in marriage to Ben Weideman January 24, 1945.
She opened a salon in Miller in 1947.  Ben joined Ida in the family business as a hairdresser in 1954. The couple also operated salons in Faulkton and Highmore. She had been a member of the Hairdressers and Cosmetology Association since 1948, and was named South Dakota Cosmetologist of the Year in 1985.  
She is survived by her sons, Tom (Paula) and Jerry (Nita); her nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and sisters, Ruth Buerkley, Ella Buerkley, Emma Klipfel and Violet Moncur.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben; daughter, Candance Weideman; and siblings, Esther Schlauch, Enoch Schock, and Rueben Schock.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Ida’s arrangements.
