IROQUOIS — Mike Larson, a member of the Iroquois High School Class of 1974 and the founder of Larson Data Communications, will be guest speaker for the Veteran’s Day program Monday at 3 p.m. in the Iroquois School south gymnasium.
Larson has had an extensive career in commercial, industrial, and military wireless data communications.
In his early adult life, during his 23-year military career in the U.S. Marines in which he attained an enlisted rank of Gunnery Sergeant and later an officer rank of Captain, he was responsible for establishing and maintaining military command/control communications systems within the United States and in many other countries around the world.
At Larson Data Communications, which he founded in 2002, he serves as President and Sr. Systems Engineer. He has continued to develop professionally, now often serving in highly technical consultative and speaking roles for critical infrastructure entities and agencies including many water, wastewater and electric utility companies; intelligent transportation systems; and local, state, and federal agencies within the U.S. and internationally.
Larson grew up in rural Bancroft and Manchester.
