Building strong communities

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is a national career and technical student organization for young men and women in Family and Consumer Sciences education in public and private school through grade 12.

FCCLA offers intra-curricular resources and opportunities for students to pursue careers that support families. Since 1945, FCCLA members have been making a difference in their families, careers, and communities by addressing important personal, work, and societal issues through Family and Consumer Sciences education.

Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) offers members the opportunity to expand their leadership potential and develop skills for life — planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision making, and interpersonal communication —all necessary within the home and workplace.

FCCLA is unique among youth organizations because its programs are planned and run by members. It is the only career and technical in-school student organization with family as its central focus.

In Iroquois, students are able to join FCCLA starting in eighth grade. Once they are a member, they are able to join the group for nightly meetings, region and state meetings, and local competitions.
Their adviser in Iroquois School is Vicki Dant.
