 IROQUOIS — Isaac Machtemes, 13, of Iroquois, passed away Wednesday, October 10, 2018. 
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, October 16, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron. Visitation for Isaac will be from 3 to 7 p.m., Monday, with his family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Kuhler Funeral Home. 
Isaac Kayle Machtemes was born January 23, 2005, to Brian and Melissa (Brown) Machtemes at Huron. He grew up on the family farm southeast of Cavour. Isaac was an eighth-grade student attending Iroquois Middle School. He ran cross country and track. He was also active in football and basketball. Isaac loved to sing in the school choir, belting out notes until his voice was hoarse. He was a lifelong boy scout with his mother as an assistant scoutmaster. Isaac earned his Star rank in the Huron Boy Scouts with Troop 222. He enjoyed joking around with family and friends, sharing his faith and spending time with his family, especially his two brothers. His favorite pastime was raiding his grandma’s fridge for goodies with his grandpa. Isaac loved the outdoors and could be found four wheeling on the dirt track behind his home, fishing out at West Bend, hunting with his family and riding ATV down back country roads with his dad.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his parents, Brian and Melissa Machtemes of Iroquois; his two brothers, Benjamin Machtemes of Iroquois, and Gavin Machtemes of Vermillion; his maternal grandparents, Stuart and Debbie Magsam of Iroquois; paternal grandparent, Gladine (Selting) Machtemes of Faulkton; his aunt, Brenda and husband, John Carda of Aberdeen; his three uncles, Shane and wife, Stacey Machtemes of Faulkton, Brent and wife, Tami Machtemes and Bruce and wife, Dawn Machtemes, both of Minneapolis, Minn.; and many cousins.
He is preceded in death by his older brother, Christopher Michael; and grandfather, Richard Machtemes.
