POLO — James Michael Wieseler, 86, of Polo, passed away Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at South Ridge Healthcare in Sioux Falls.  
Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 p.m., Monday, October 22, at St. Liborius Catholic Church in Polo. Burial will be at a later date in the Black Hills National Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 p.m. Sunday, followed by a 4 p.m. prayer service at the church.
James was born December 2, 1931, to John and Rose (Pfister) Wieseler near Polo. He graduated from Fairview High School at Polo in 1950. He attended two years at U.S.D. in Vermillion and was drafted into the U.S. Army, serving two years in the Korean War stateside. He returned to farm until retiring in 2006.
He was united in marriage to Marietta Smalls. He was a member of St. Liborius Church, the Richard Clement Legion Post 299 in Polo, and other organizations.
He is survived by his wife; children, Lanae Wieseler of Rapid City, Rosemary Wieseler of Redford Mich., Laree Giovannettone of Sioux Falls, Rory Wieseler of Rapid City; two grandchildren; siblings, John Wieseler of Hazen, N.D., Elinor Clingan of Westminster, Md.; sisters-in-law, Delores Wieseler of Miller, Joan Wieseler of Kennewick, Wa.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Marcella, George and Leonard.
