HURON — Janet M. Bogh, 80, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at Avantara-Huron in Huron, South Dakota. Her memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron with burial to follow at Ideal Cemetery in Huron. Janet Marie Gross was born February 8, 1940, in Huron, South Dakota to parents John W. and Mary (Waldner) Gross. She attended McKinley School and Huron High School, graduating in 1958.


Janet married Gordon Bogh in Huron on December 3, 1960. Janet worked for Huron Public Schools as a baker for 35 years and continued as a substitute food service worker for many years after her retirement. She enjoyed baking, playing dominoes and cards with friends and in her earlier years, she enjoyed camping and fishing. Janet enjoyed watching NBA basketball and cheering for her favorite teams and players. She also loved collecting Coca-Cola memorabilia. Janet was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church.
 She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary (Waldner) Gross; husband, Gordon in 2007; brother Junior Gross and sister Arlene DeJean.


 Grateful for having shared in her life are her children, Twila (Rick) Hartford of Hickory, N.C., Michael (Marlo) Bogh of Huron, Brenda (Rick) Nelson of Huron, and Robin (Allen) Shoultz of Huron; seven grandchildren, Chad (Cashayne) Bogh, Michael (Jennifer) Bogh, Stacy (Jon) Hartford Downie, Kelly Hartford,  Kelsey (Gerald) Meuchel, Josh (Tiffany) Nelson, and Cody (Jade) Shoultz; six step grandchildren, Dean Taylor, Marc Taylor, Alex Taylor, Sean Taylor, Darek Nelson, and Chasity Towns; 10 great-grandchildren; 19 step great-grandchildren; and two great-great step grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ramona Bogh and Wanda Bogh.
