OMAHA, Neb. — Janice M. Henley, 76, of Omaha, Neb., formerly of Watertown and Hayti, passed away Friday, June 29, 2018, at a hospital in Omaha. She was the widow of Harold Henley.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 7, at Watertown Christian Church (Formerly South Lake Church of Christ). Pastor Ken Reed will officiate. Music will be provided by Nancy Maynard as pianist with Vicky Smith, Stephanie Jungers and Daryl Ling as vocalists. The family is requested to meet by 10:00 a.m. at the church on Saturday. Visitation will be Friday, July 6, at Crawford-Osthus Funeral Chapel from 4 to 7 p.m. and also prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Following the service, lunch will be served at the church, where family and friends may gather to enjoy each other’s company as we remember Janice. After which, the procession will depart from the church to the burial site at Pleasant View Cemetery in Hayti. Active pallbearers will be Daniel Henley, Timothy Henley, Rick Henley, Troy Henley, Britt Henley and Tom Olson.
Janice was born June 20, 1942, in Mitchell to Kenneth and Pearl (Thomas) Nelson. She attended school in Huron. She was united in marriage to Harold Bernard Henley March 8, 1958, in Hayti. She was a member of South Lake Church of Christ and Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer.
For many years, after completing her cosmetology degree, she took pride in being a beautician as well as owning her own beauty shop while enjoying her relationships with her customers. One of the greatest enjoyments of her life was loving the time she spent adoring her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Janice gave of everything to her children, with her whole heart and soul, and with absolute grace and unbounding love.
Janice is survived by four sons, Daniel (Teresa) Henley, Timothy (Kristi) Henley all of Omaha, Neb., Ricky (Lorrie) Henley of Rapid City, and Troy (Darcy) Henley of Hayti; one daughter, Kari (Tom) Olson of Omaha, Neb.; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Bernard; her infant son, Kevin Lee; her parents, Kenneth and Pearl Nelson; and two brothers, DeWayne Nelson and LaVern Nelson.
The Henley Family is thankful and appreciative of all the prayers, loving thoughts, gifts, and condolences. God in heaven is holding on to his precious child, blessing her soul, granting her peace, complete joy, and pure everlasting Love.
