WESSINGTON — Jarold D.  “Jerry” Jones, 76, of Wessington, passed away Saturday, September 16, 2017, at the Sanford (USD) Medical Center in Sioux Falls.
His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 20, at the First Presbyterian Church in Wessington with burial in the Wessington Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron; or visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. 
Jarold D. Jones was born September 7, 1941, in Leola to Edwin and Ella (Gutjahr) Jones. His family moved to Huron where he graduated from Huron High School in 1960.
He married Sharalyn L. Langbehn July 3, 1965, in Rapid City and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Wessington.
He worked construction and farmed for several years before finishing his career as a truck driver. He continued trucking for Resel Oil Company and John Boomsma even after his semi-retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Sharalyn; children, Dale (Kristi Knock) Jones of Watertown, and Christina (Stacy) De Boer of Clear Lake; five grandchildren, Douglas (Stephanie Woods) Jones, and Jessica (Lee Bernard) Jones both of Watertown, Johnny and Jacob DeBoer of ClearLake, and Allie Skinner of Wessington; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carol Bell; brother-in-law, Alan Bell; and several aunts and uncles.
