HURON — Jeanne L. Bauder, 90, of Huron, passed away Monday, April 2, 2018, at the Huron Regional Medical Center.
Her memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, April 7, at the American Lutheran Church.  A private burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 7 p.m., Friday at the Kuhler Funeral Home with her family present from 5 to 7 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday evening.
Jeanne L. Bauder was born October 18, 1927, at Huron to William F. Sr. and Anna D. (White) Smith. She was married to Herman Bauder on April 22, 1951. She attended school in Huron and graduated in 1945. During her school years she worked at the State Theater and the Sprague Hospital as a PBX operator. After graduation, Jeanne was employed at Monney, Mueller & Ward Company, in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Butler Motors, in Chicago Illinois. In Huron, she worked for the Huron Credit Bureau, Northwest Finance Company and retired from the B. A. Kiser Finance Company in 1974.
She was a past president of the La Sertoma Club; member of the Huron Area Antique Power Association, a volunteer at Prairie Village Railroad at Madison; and a life member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Association. Jeanne was a member of the American Lutheran Church where she was baptized, confirmed and married.  Jeanne and Herman were honored in 2006, by the Huron 4-H Rodeo Association with a traveling bronze trophy.
Jeanne enjoyed antique auctions, collecting railroad memorabilia and for many years did antique appraisals for banks, insurance companies and individuals.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herman; four brothers, George, Edward, John and William “Bill” Smith; one sister, Aletha Tillman; one brother-in-law; and five sisters-in-law.
Grateful for having shared her life are her one brother-in-law, Arnold Bauder of Huron; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
