HURON — Jeffrey John Kalahar, 53, of Huron, passed away Tuesday, January 1, 2019, under hospice care at his daughter’s home in Brookings.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
Jeffrey John Kalahar was born February 6, 1965, in Huron to Michael and Judy (Quiram) Kalahar. He graduated from Huron High School in 1983, and was employed by Holy Trinity Catholic School as a custodian. He was united in marriage to Jennifer Allen. To this union, they were blessed with a daughter, Kayce. He was an avid pet lover, enjoyed food, going to the lake and motorcycles.
He is survived by his daughter, Kayce Kalahar (fiancé, Josh Denoncourt) of Brookings; his parents, Mike and Judy Kalahar of Huron; sisters, Christine (Terry) Hanten, and Kathy (Dan) Weinstein both of Sioux Falls, and Sheri (Bob) Blue of Iroquois; special friend, Veda Obermann; several nephews; and nieces; and his five cats.
He is preceded in death by an infant brother, Michael; and his grandparents, Marion and Veronica Kalahar, and Walter and Freida Quiram.
