HURON — Jerry Micheel, 79, of Huron, formerly of Cavour, passed away Sunday, July 7, 2019, at SunQuest Village in Huron.
His funeral will be 10:30 a.m., Friday July 12, at Welter Funeral Home in Huron with burial in Ideal Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home or one hour prior to the service.
Jerald Micheel was born December 17, 1939, in Huron to Arthur J. and Lucille C. (Rupp) Micheel. He graduated from Cavour High School and attended Huron College. He served in the Army National Guard and farmed near Cavour for many years. He was united in marriage to Marlene Bales November 23, 2001. He was a member of the American Lutheran Church, Beadle County 4-H, the Elks Club, and the Int’l. Farm Youth Exchange Program. He served as an officer for the IFYE Alumni Association, the Heartland Board, Beadle County Commission, and the HRMC Board.
He is survived by his siblings, Bruce (Carla) Micheel of Cavour, Marilyn (Howard) Hanson of Mankato, Minn.; six nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Marlene in 2017.
