HOWARD — Jo Ann Sherman, 85, of Howard, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society in Howard.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, February 16, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Howard with burial to follow in Graceland Cemetery at Howard. Visitation will begin Thursday at noon with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Willoughby Funeral Home in Howard.
Orpha Jo Ann Stalheim was born August 25, 1932, near Wakonda to Howard and Ida (Knudson) Stalheim. She graduated from Howard High School in 1951.
She was united in marriage to John Sherman September 20, 1951. She worked for several offices and agencies throughout her working career and worked as a partner in their family businesses.
She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church and ladies aid, the Miner County Saddle Club and was involved as a Cub and Boy Scout Leader.
She is survived by her husband; sons, Gary (Yo) Sherman of Salem, Randy (Marcia) Sherman of Howard, Tom Sherman of Lennox, and Roger (Carol) Sherman of Tea; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and sisters, Lila (Don) Kaufman of Howard, and Kathy Nechvatal of Madison, Wisc.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mavis Adler, Val Donaldson, and James Stalheim; and great-grandson, Levi Addy.
