HURON — Jody L. Minske, 62, of Huron, passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at her home in Huron.
A Celebration of Life Service for Jody and Doug Minske will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Huron.
Jody Lynn Minske was born on December 2, 1958, to parents Donald D. Friese and Joyl D. (Nelson) Friese in Huron.
Jody attended Huron High School, graduating in 1977. On May 6, 1978, Jody married Doug E. Minske in Huron, SD. Jody attended Huron School of Nursing where she received her RN License. She followed her love and compassion for others by providing care for those in need, with mental and physical disabilities - both young and old.
Jody was a born caregiver. She provided care to many throughout the community during her nursing career at The Huron Nursing Home, Adjustment Training Center, Bradfield- Leary Community Counseling Services, and The Violette Tschetter Memorial Nursing Home before retiring.
Jody loved spending her free time with Doug and the many dogs and cats they shared throughout the years.  One of their favorite things to do was vacation in Hawaii together.   Jody enjoyed cooking and had a big passion for reading, as well as playing the piano in her spare time.
Family and friends would look forward to the elaborate annual Halloween parties and summer weekends at Lake Byron hosted by Jody and Doug.
Jody is preceded in death by her husband, Doug Minske; her father, Donald Friese; her mother, Joyl Friese; her grandparents; her father in-law, Eldon Minske; and brother in-law, Kevin Minske.
Grateful for having shared in her life are her brother, Todd (Diane) Friese of Sioux Falls; sister, Jill (Jim) Mehle of Otsego, Minn.; her mother in-law, Evonne Minske of Huron; her sister in-law, Jill Minske of Huron; her nieces and nephews, Kristin (Anthony) Blaine, Derek Friese, Kassandra Friese, Jamae (Bill) Halluska, Justine (fiancé Alex Keston) Mehle, Matthew (Brittany) Mehle, Marissa Minske; and great nieces and nephews, Billy, Presley, Daweslynn, Parker, Henry, Thomas, Charlie, Josephine, Brooklyn and Lincoln.
