REDFIELD — John Joachim Komraus, 83, of Redfield, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield.
His funeral will be 2 p.m., Monday, June 10, at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield. Burial, with military honors, will follow at the Rockham Grace Cemetery in Rockham. Visitation will be prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with family at 1 p.m.
John Joachim Komraus was born October 11, 1935, in Avon, Mich. to William and Dora (Rolisosf) Komraus. He graduated from Romulus High School in Michigan in 1953. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1960. He was united in marriage to Eleanor Iverson John October 5, 1963.
In 1974, they moved to Rockham. He had various jobs throughout his life. He was a Nursing Home Administrator in Faulkton, Winner and Spearfish. Around 1991, John went to work as a janitor/handy man at the Redfield Public School.
John is survived by his son, Keith (Nikki) Komraus of Zell; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor his parents; siblings; and his grandson Kolby.
