MURDO — Joyce Brunskill, 88, of Murdo, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Rapid City Hospice House.
Her service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, July 28, at the Murdo Methodist Church with burial in Murdo City Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to  8 p.m. Friday at the Murdo Methodist Church.    
Joyce Donna Iversen Brunskill was born June 4, 1930, in Pierre to Ole and Emma (Terriere) Iversen. She graduated from Murdo High School in 1948. She was united in marriage to  Roland Eveleth in 1949.
In 1966, she married Gerald “Sam” Brunskill and moved to Huron. She received an Honorary Lifetime Membership in the Huron United Methodist Women, and was a member of the Hospital Auxiliary and Church Women United. She was the sponsor of the Gamma Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi and was active in the FACIA Extension Club. In 1997, she was named South Dakota Mother of the Year and attended the National American Mother of the Year’s meeting in Scottsdale, Ariz.
Joyce is survived by her sons, Brad (Sally) of Rapid City, Steve (Kristine) of Elizabeth, Colo., and Joe (Evelyn) of Volcan, Panama; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and brother, George Allen (Hanna) Iversen of Murdo.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Roland, husband, Sam; and special friend, Bob Thune; four brothers; and three sisters.
