Judge requests senior status

Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals Judge Roger L. Wollman has notified President Trump that he intends to assume senior status as of the date his successor has qualified, but not later than Dec. 31.
Assuming senior status means that the president can appoint another active judge to the court of appeals.
Wollman will still serve, but can have a reduced case load.
He was nominated by President Reagan on June 25, 1985, was confirmed by the Senate on July 19, 1985 and received his commission on July 22, 1985.
He took his seat on the court of appeals on Sept. 6, 1985.
Wollman intends to render substantial judicial service as a senior circuit judge.
