REDFIELD — June I. Anderson, 86, of Redfield, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at Lakeside Assisted Living in Redfield.
Her graveside memorial service will be 9:30 a.m., Saturday, July 28, in Greenlawn Cemetery at Redfield.
June Irene Baker was born April 14, 1932, in Redfield to Lynn C. and Alma M. (Liberty) Baker. She graduated from Redfield Public Schools in 1950. She was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” D. Anderson June 3, 1950.
Her nickname was “June Bug” and she was steadfast, faithful, trustworthy and someone you knew would always be there. Long walks and bike rides were favorite hobbies. You could often find her husband, Dick, riding his red scooter beside her. She was a private person and was especially kind to older people.
Towards the end of her life, she displayed a tremendous amount of courage and wisdom as she learned to accept life as it came with grace. She was at peace and grateful, both of which personified her favorite saying, “patience is a virtue.”
She is survived by her children, Jeanie M. Tiff of Hot Springs, and Raymond D. Anderson of Rapid City; and granddaughters, Vanah Maresh Anderson, and Shania Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick in 2017; and sisters, Alviary Lynsne, and Velva Hagen.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home of Redfield.
