SIOUX FALLS — Katherine Aurelia Woodworth, 91, formerly of Huron, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Ava’s House in Sioux Falls.
Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 18, at the American Lutheran Church in Huron with burial at the Restlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the service at the church Saturday morning.
Katherine A. Sampson was born November 29, 1925, to Knute and Catherine (Cassidy) Sampson. She graduated from Huron High School and attended Huron College. She was united in marriage to Roger Woodworth September 21, 1947. She worked at various places during her career including N.W.P.S., Farm Home Administration, Federal Crop Insurance, and Bureau of Reclamation. She was involved with the American Lutheran Church and was also active in the Doll Club, Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority, League of Women Voters, P.T.A., Cub Scouts and Brownie leader.
She is survived by her children, Roger (Barb) Woodworth of Sioux Falls, and Mary (Jon) Cameron of Sioux Falls; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger, on April 23, 1994; and five sisters.
The family prefers memorials to the American Lutheran Church, The Salvation Army or Red Cross.
