SIOUX FALLS — The Huron Lady All-Stars opened the season be going 3-2 at The Fight Like A Ninja Tournament, which concluded Sunday.
The 3-day event raised funds for teenage suicide prevention.
Huron opened the event with a 2-1 victory against 2-1 win against Brookings on Friday.
Both goals for the Lady All-Stars came in the second period. Kylee Small had the opening goal on a pass from Devin Hunter, while Abby Thomas had the second goal with an assist going to Shelby Timm.
Alissa Ferguson tallied 21 saves to earn the win in the goal for Huron.
The Omaha Lancers edged the Lady All-Stars 2-1 in the first of two games Saturday.
Thomas had the lone goal for Huron, with Alexis Priest assisting on the play.
Ferguson stopped 43 of the 45 shots she faced, including 31 in the final period.
The Sioux Falls Ninjas emerged with a 2-1 win against the Lady All-Stars in the second game Saturday.
Ashley Busch had the lone goal for Huron with the assist going to Kaitlynn Harms.
Ferguson tallied 14 saves.
The Lady All-Stars then recorded back-to-back wins on Sunday.
The first was a 4-2 decision against Sioux Center.
Small had a pair of goals and two assists for Huron, while Busch had a goal and two assists, and Azalea Rashaad had a goal and an assist.
Ferguson had 22 saves to earn the victory as the goalie for the Lady All-Stars.
Huron closed the event with a 6-1 victory against Oahe.
Busch had a pair of goals, while Rashaad, Hunter, Izabel Casper and Small each had a goal.
Small had a pair of assists, while Rashaad and Thomas also had an assist each.
