Lady All-Stars earn victory

WATERTOWN — The Huron Lady All-Stars earned their first win of the season Sunday with a 3-1 victory against the Watertown Lady Lakers.
After Watertown put the first goal on the board in the second period, the Lady All-Stars scored three unanswered goals to collect the win.
Kylee Small had the first goal of Huron on a pass from Abby Thomas in the final minute of the second period to even the score at 1-1 heading into the final period.
Ashley Busch had the final two goals for the Lady All-Stars in the third period. The first came on an unassisted shot during a short-handed situation, while the second was an empty-net goal during a power play on a pass from Fatima Reyes.
Alissa Ferguson stopped 17 of the 18 shots she faced to earn the win in the net for Huron, which had 36 shots on goal in the game.
On Friday, Mitchell scored five goals in the first period en route to a 10-3 win against the Lady All-Stars.
Busch had two of the three goals for Huron. The first came just 26 seconds into the second period on a pass from Thomas, while the second opened the scoring in the third period on a pass from Small.
Azelea Rashaad had the other goal for the Lady All-Stars in the second period on a pass from Alexis Priest.

Mitchell took 42 shots in the game, compared to just 20 for Huron. Ferguson tallied 32 saves for the Lady All-Stars.
The Huron girls’ varsity will travel to face Oahe at 2 p.m. Saturday before make its home debut with a 1:30 p.m. game against Sioux Center on Sunday at Bergman Arena.

U14 girls
After both teams scored two goals in the second period, the Huron U14 girls’ team outscored Watertown 4-0 in the final period for a 6-2 win on Sunday.
Small and Shelby Timm had unassisted goals for the Lady All-Stars in the second period.
Alexis Raashad had three goals for Huron in the third period to earn the hat trick. Small assisted on the first two, with the third being unassisted.
Moe Moe OO had the final goal for the Lady All-Stars, with an assist going to Priest.
Marissa Ready earned the win in the net for Huron with six saves.
Mitchell recorded a 9-2 win against the Lady All-Stars on Friday.
Pries had the first goal for Huron on an unassisted shot in the second period. Anna Fuerst had the second goal on an unassisted shot in the third period.
Ready had 15 saves for the Lady All-Stars.
