REDFIELD — Larry J. Baumberger, 81, died December 27, 2017, at the Redfield Care Center. 
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Thursday at the Lake Preston Cemetery, with Reverend Teresa Whetsel officiating. There is no visitation.
Larry Baumberger was born July 7, 1936, to Kenneth and Ethel Baumberger.  He was the second of four siblings. He went to school through the eighth grade at Erwin High School. Through his life, he held a variety of jobs, but most were focused on farm work.
In 1975, he was married to Kay Johnson and became a step-father to her children, whom he loved dearly. They later divorced, but remained close.
He settled in Doland, where he became known to many as “Uncle Larry”. He lived in Doland until his health required him to move to the Redfield Care Center, where he remained until his death.
He is survived by his sister, Gloria McAdaragh; many nieces and nephews; ex-wife, Kay Trygstad; his step-children, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Keith and Dean.
