PLATTE — Larry W. Roetman, 78, of Platte, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at his home.
Funeral Service is 11 a.m., Saturday, June 2, at Olive Presbyterian Church in Platte. A Committal Service will take place at a later date in the Platte City Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Mount Funeral Home in Platte with a 7 p.m. Prayer Service.
Larry Wayne Roetman was born October 14, 1939, in Minneapolis, Minn. He was adopted by Clifford V. and Fern (Tofflemire) Roetman and moved with the family from Minn. to Wessington Springs in 1947. He graduated from Wessington Springs High School in 1957, and went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1959 to 1961. He was united in marriage to Shirley E. Johnson September 16, 1962. He then began a lifelong career as a farmer and rancher.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons, Monte L. (Elizabeth) Roetman of Kearney, Neb., and Lance L. Roetman of Platte; one granddaughter; one stepgrandson; sister-in-law, Elaine Roetman of Wessington Springs; brother-in-law, Rolland (Jean) Johnson of Platte; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Darrel V. Roetman, Beverly (Harold) Taylor, and Virginia (Owen) Kluksdahl.
