YALE — Larry Waldner, 59, of Yale, passed away Monday, January 16, 2023, at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls.


His Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with burial at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in rural Yale. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m., with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Welter Funeral Home; or one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. A prayer service will begin at 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.


Larry A. Waldner was born on Feb. 20, 1963, in Huron to parents Aron and Sara (Wollman) Waldner. He grew up on Long Lake Colony. Larry worked for Doug and Daryl Eckmann for 15 years, Yale Elevator, Gary Hofer Farms and for the last 10 years at Dakotaland Feed in Huron.


Larry married Margaret Waldner at Riverview United Methodist Church in Huron on Oct. 7, 1989. Larry and Margaret made their home in Yale. He enjoyed watching western movies, hanging out with his family, being with his dog Roger, playing cards on his phone. Larry enjoyed being at home.


He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Yale; his children, Stefanie (Mike) Arbeiter of Iroquois, Sarita Waldner (significant other Brady Potts) of Hoven, and Caleb Waldner of Mitchell; four grandchildren, Tobias Arbeiter, Carter Arbeiter, and Mikayla Arbeiter, and Kaladin Potts; siblings, Joe Waldner of Aberdeen, Aron (Lisa) Waldner of Miller, Rick Waldner of Blunt, Philip Waldner of Lehr, N.D., Darlene Wollman of Fullerton, N.D., Diane Waldner of Westport, Kimberley Waldner of Westport, and Serena (Danny) Stahl of Kimball; Margaret’s brothers and sisters; and many nieces and nephews.


He was preceded in death by his parents Aron and Sara, brother-in-law, Clarence Wollman; and mother-in-law, Rebecca Waldner.
