REE HEIGHTS — Lawrence Kirschenmann, 72, of Ree Heights, passed away Friday, February 9, 2018, at Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 14, at the Ree Heights Auditorium with Pastor Sheena Thomson officiating. Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery at Ree Heights. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a 7 p.m. prayer service Tuesday all at Reck Funeral Home in Miller.
Lawrence Herbert Kirschenmann was born September 19, 1945 in Pierre to Alvin and Mayo (Sadler) Kirschenmann and was raised on a farm south of Harrold.
He was united in marriage to Doneta Rader in 1972. He and Doneta worked side by side on the family farm in Harrold. In November of 1977, they moved to Ree Heights to work for P. Spear Ranch. He enjoyed working cattle, putting up hay, and running the combine. He also took great pride in feeding and caring for the calves for the past 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, Doneta; sons, Steve, Mike, and Roger; siblings, Art (Lynn) Kirschenmann, Merlin (Lois) Kirschenmann, Alma (Jerry) Lappe, and Kristy (Pete) Severson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Lawrence’s arrangements.
