Learning to give thanks at CLC

Posted

Children in the 4’s pre-K classes at American Lutheran Church Christian Learning Center Preschool presented their annual Thanksgiving Caring & Sharing program Nov. 13 in the church sanctuary. The program included songs, finger plays and Bible verses.
All four of the preschool classes, volunteers and staff have been bringing food and paper products for the needy to be given to the local food pantries at the end of the month. Items may still be brought to CLC through the month of November.
The teachers at CLC will also be ringing bells for Salvation Army at Coborn’s in December, and they will be taking phone pledges for the Salvation Army Christmas Food Basket program on Wednesday, Nov. 29.
Volunteer Sheron Chapman and the children counted the items that had been collected for the Salvation Army, and it was up to 93 on the day of the program.

Joyce Borah is the director/teacher and her assistant is Brenda Friedrichsen. Fern Marie Mattke is CLC office assistant, and pre-K volunteers include Sheron Chapman, Verna DeKraai, Barb Solomon, Louise Hasche, Betty Derksen, Barb Dietz and Barbara Evenson.
