The first age group in the competition was 10- to 12-year-olds. Applicants were able to submit their information until the competition started, at which point the names were drawn randomly.

After the 10- to 12-year-olds were the eight- to nine-year-olds, then the six- to seven-year-olds, and lastly was the four- to five-year-old age group.
Each group had first, second and third place winners. Prizes for third placers was a $10 Wal-Mart card, second place received a $15 Wal-Mart card and the first place prize was a $25 Wal-Mart card.
