HURON — Lennie Dismounts, 65, of Huron, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at the Violet Tschetter Memorial Home of complications from diabetes.
A celebration of his life will be 1 p.m., Friday, December 7, at the Kuhler Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the celebration of his life.
Leonard Samuel Dismounts Thrice was born April 14, 1953, in Rapid City to Seth and Katherine (Chasing Horse) Dismounts. After graduating from Rapid City Central High School in 1972, he worked for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad and was transferred to Huron in 1983. He later worked as a steel brake operator at Overbuilt.
He suffered two major strokes in 2016.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Kay; his children, Kristy (Bill) Smith of Huron, Daniel (KarriAnn) Dismounts of Sioux Falls, and Sarah (Kyle) Dunn of Huron; two grandchildren; two brothers, Seth “Marty” (Charlene) Dismounts, and Sylvan Dismounts, both of Rapid City; sister, Sandi Schieberl of California; and sister-in-law, Lana (Allen) Willey of Huron.
Lennie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ben and Randy Dismounts; sister-in-law, Theresa Green; nieces, Patricia (PJ), Jenny, and Kateri Dismounts and his in-laws, George and Donna Hartzell.
