WOONSOCKET — LeRoy Arhart, 83, of Woonsocket, passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Society in Sioux Falls.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., today at the First United Methodist Church in Mitchell. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery at rural Lane. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Storla Lutheran Church of rural Letcher.
LeRoy Alfred Arhart was born December 6, 1935, in Jerauld County to Alfred and Clara (Feistner) Arhart. He graduated from Lane High School and attended Ag School at South Dakota State for two years. He joined the Army National Guard for six years. He was united in marriage to Phyllis Salmen November 4, 1960. They farmed for many years.
He is survived by his wife; children, Rodney, and Susan Anderson; two grandchildren; sisters, Agnes Ekstrum, and Diane (Harlan) Thompson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Leonard Sheffield; siblings, Alice (Gene Olsen), and Laverne (Judy) Arhart; and grandson, Briggs Anderson.
