MILLER — Lester E. Eschenbaum, 87, of Miller, passed away Friday, July 5, 2019, at the Good Samaritan Society in Miller.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 11, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Miller. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Ann’s Cemetery at Miller. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday with a 7 p.m. prayer and rosary service all at the church.
Lester was born April 13, 1932, in Orient to Herman and Helen (Keppen) Eschenbaum. After high school, he served in the United States Army during the Korean War until his honorable discharge. He was united in marriage to Theresa Keller. In 1978, they purchased the Polly Shoe store in Miller.
He is survived by his wife, Theresa; daughters, Sandy Sawvell, Lynn Timmerman both of Sioux Falls, Denise Rogers of Littleton, Colo., and Leslie Waltner of Sioux Falls; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Annette, Marvin, Keith, Willard and Etta Eschenbaum.
