Letter - Meyers 11-18

To the Editor:

Our United States Federal Department of Justice recently put out an official statement that said - in part - that our election, on Nov. 3, 2020, was SECURE, there was NO fraud.

Multiple secretaries of state, both Republican and Democrat say that their election processes are secure, there was NO FRAUD. How is it possible that in the states where President Trump won, all those election officials - both Republican and Democrat - are honest and in all the states that he lost, all those election officials - both Republican and Democrat - are cheaters or are dishonest? President Trump’s allegations against those folks is completely unfounded and unfair.

Joe Biden won the 2020 election fair and square. Individuals can disagree and be angry, but every four years we do this. There is a winner and a loser and this is the reality of a democracy. No matter how wonderful a candidate believes he is and no matter how passionate his followers are, we the people - ALL the people - decide who we want for our next president. Our democratic election process has been this way since we elected our very first president. It is wrong to encourage hate and violence and promote lies and distrust.

People must decide; do you believe in our Democracy only when your candidate wins or do you truly believe in our Democracy?  Because if you think democracy is only fair when your candidate wins then my friends, you do not believe in democracy.
