HURON — Lewis A. Becker, 96, of Huron, passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at his home with his family by his side.
His funeral service will be 2 p.m., Monday, February 26, at the Calvary Baptist Church.  Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery.  Visitation with family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Kuhler Funeral Home with a prayer service to be held at 6:30 p.m.
Lewis A. Becker was born January 26, 1922, at Chinook, Montana to Abraham B. and Helena (Buller) Becker. He went to a country school, and later attended high school at Onida and Yale.
He was united in marriage to Eunice McCoy in 1944. He worked for Armour and Company for 40 years. During this time he also built 15 houses in and around the Huron area. He was united in marriage to Verna Kuhfeld Schock October 7, 2007.
He is survived by his wife, Verna of Huron; stepchildren, Janice (Ben) Engebrecht of Dolton, Bernadine (Randy) Martin of Kopperal, Texas, Tammy (James) Claymore of Eureka, and William (Aweont) Schock of Huron; fourteen stepgrandchildren; fifteen stepgreat-grandchildren; siblings, Jim (Jan) Becker of Sun City, Ariz., and Carol Campbell of Sioux Falls; sister-in-law, Mary Becker of Huron; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Eunice; son, LeRoy Becker; stepson, Larry Schock; siblings, Bertha Becker, Ida (Jake) Pullman, Olga (Wesley) Koehn, Elmer, Abraham, Arthur, Walter, Wilbert and Harry.
