HOWARD — Lewis “Louie” Bernard Patterson, 86, of Howard, passed away Monday, April 23, 2018, at the Good Samaritan Society in Howard.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, April 28, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Howard. A private family burial will be held at an earlier time. Visitation will begin Friday with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. at Willoughby Funeral Home in Howard.
Lewis Bernard Patterson was born January 12, 1932, at Carthage to John and Carrie (VanScharrel) Patterson. He was inducted into the U.S. Army in 1952, and received a medical discharge. He was united in marriage to Norma Hopper June 7, 1953. He was a member of Belleview Lutheran Church, the Howard American Legion, and served on the Grafton Township Board.
He is survived by his wife; children, Curtis (Judy) Patterson of Florence, Ala., Thomas (Joan) Patterson of Madison, Lewis Gregory (Debra) Patterson of Colman, and Jennifer (Darrell) Seurer of Watertown; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; brother, Donald (Lillie) Voelker of Ft. Wayne, Ind.; brother-in-law, Howard (Delrita) Hopper of Watertown; sister-in-law, Marilyn Tucek of Mitchell; and many other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, George Voelker, Nadine Patterson, and Marlys Shull; and granddaughter, Jennae Patterson.
