HOWARD — Lila Laura (Malwitz) Hurry, 95, of Howard, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society in Howard.
A Memorial service will be 3 p.m., Saturday, July 8, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Howard. Inurnment will be in St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.
Lila Laura Malwitz was born December 2, 1921, at Roswell to William and Bertha (Levenhagen) Malwitz. She was raised in the Farmer area and attended Burbank School. She was united in marriage to Homer Hurry November 4, 1942. The couple moved to Howard. She cooked at the Howard School for thirty-seven years.
Lila enjoyed flower gardening, embroidering, playing cards and watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings play. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and Ladies Aid.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Tom) Feldhaus of Howard, Brenda (Craig) Cady of Gillette, Wyo., Donna (Alden) Boyd of Lake Preston, and Bonnie (David) Taylor of Sioux Falls; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer; son, Darrell Hurry; three brothers; and two sisters.
