BROOKINGS — With two of the top five golfers in the 80-player field, Sioux Falls Lincoln held off O’Gorman to win the team title during the Bill Scholten Invitational on Monday at the Brookings Country Club.
The Patriots finished with a total of 305 to edge O’Gorman by two strokes and third-placed Harrisburg by three strokes.
Watertown was fourth at 319, followed by Sioux Falls Roosevelt at 320.
Huron was 14th with a total of 370.
Garrett Everson of Sioux Falls Roosevelt and Braydon Jones of Aberdeen Central shared the top spot with scores of 69.
Sioux Falls Lincoln teammates Nash Stenberg and Luke Honner were third and fourth, respectively, with scores of 72 and 73. Emmet Hansen of Brandon Valley rounded out the top five with a 74.
Landon Roberts paced the Tigers with a 77, which placed him in a four-way tie for the 12th spot.
Jaren Schley tied for spot No. 64 for Huron with a 91, while Will Smith was 70th with a 95. Aiden Zavesky and Landon Mohr had scores of 105 and 133, respectively.
The Tigers will be back in action Friday at the Mitchell Invite, which is slated to begin at 10:30 a.m.
