Looking to the future

HURON — ELO Prof LLC and Huron Title Co. broke ground Monday on their new office building that will house the two firms in the Southtown development.
Completion is expected in November.
When the joint venture was announced last year, Huron Title Co. officials said they had been looking for the right location for a building that will last long into the future.
For its part, ELO Prof LLC has been expanding and is now in five South Dakota communities. The main office is in Mitchell, and there are also offices in Sioux Falls, Chamberlain, Miller and now Huron.
ELO purchased Harrington and Associates in Huron a few years ago.

The company traces its roots back to the early 1950s in Mitchell.
While there have been some changes over the years, there has consistently been a title insurance or abstract company in Huron for more than a century.
With 5,100 square feet of space, ELO will be occupying about one-half of the office building and Huron Title will be located in the other half. There will also be some common space in between.
Now under construction, the building is located on a cul-de-sac that has been named Kansas Court Southeast.
Greater Huron Development Corporation had asked late last year that the new street be called Kansas Court Southeast so it is easier to find the businesses that will be located there. City commissioners agreed and authorized the street name in December.
The cul-de-sac has been graded and completion will come soon.
