CANTON — Lori E. Tobin, 53, of Canton, formerly of Hitchcock, passed away peacefully Monday, November 27, 2017, at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.
A Memorial Service will be 1 p.m., Friday, December 1, at the Welter Funeral Home in Huron.  A private family inurnment will be in St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery near Broadland.
Lori Ellen Tobin was born April 23, 1964, in Huron to Fred and Irene (Mortimer) Tobin. Lori was raised in Hitchcock, graduating from Hitchcock High School in 1982. She then attended Northern State University graduating in 1987 with a Bachelors of Science Degree.
Her work in the technology field took her to many cities and states. Lori was most recently employed for the past seven years at CCC Information Services as a technical support specialist in Sioux Falls.
Her hobby as an amateur photographer provided many hours spent capturing the beauty in nature and sharing her photographs with family and friends. Lori’s candy making was a special talent and a continuing of a family tradition. She enjoyed doing crafts and growing plants and flowers. Her Grandmother Mortimer’s Christmas cactus bloomed under Lori’s diligent care.
Lori is survived by her sister, Colette (David) Schmidtke of Charles City, Iowa; her brothers, Thomas (Sharlyn) Tobin of Sioux Falls, and Jay (Kristin) Tobin of Aberdeen; several nieces and nephews; and a special lifetime friend, Julie Schmeichel and her husband Gary of Hitchcock.
Lori was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Elaine and Lynn; and two brothers, Loren and Timothy.
