Lower Brule defeats Jaguars to earn berth in Class B tourney

HURON — The 13th-seeded Lower Brule Sioux outscored Corsica-Stickney 26-17 over the middle two quarters, and cruised to a 61-36 upset win over the Jaguars Thursday night, and earned the school’s first trip ever to the Class “B” State basketball tournament.
Demas Bromwich and Kevin Peterson each scored 20 points to pace the Sioux attack, and Jayshawn Milton grabbed a game-high nine rebounds. Lower Brule moves to 16-7 with the win and will play in next week’s Class “B” in Aberdeen.
Corden Menning scored 11 points and had six rebounds to lead C-S. Bryce Plamp also had six rebounds for the Jags, who end the season at 20-3.
