HURON — Luvie Leola Hooks, 72, of Huron, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, in Huron.
Her funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, at First Baptist Church in Huron.
Visitation, with her family present will be from 5 to 7 p.m. this evening, with a prayer service to begin at 6:30 p.m. at Welter Funeral Home in Huron; or visitation one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Luvie was born February 12, 1948, to Theodore and Dorothy Williams in Rosedale, Miss. She later married James Hooks.
She is survived by her daughter, Zenia Lanier, sons, Michael Williams, Kim (Kelly) Hooks, Lorenzo (Arynne) Williams, and Gordon (Kelli) Hooks; 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy McCain and Daisy (L.C.) Murray; and brothers, Roosevelt, Theodore JR, and Ivory (Marvin) Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sisters, Eunice Cal and Shirley; and fivebrothers, Robert, Calvin, Ricky, Vertis, and Jimmy; and a sister-in-law, Wanda Williams.
