Lynx win ESD MS golf title

HURON — With four of the top seven golfers in the field, Brandon Valley won the Middle School Boys’ Eastern South Dakota Conference title on Monday at Broadland Creek Golf Course.

Brookings, which had two of the top five golfers was second, seven strokes behind the Lynx. Yankton was third, followed by Pierre and Aberdeen Central.

Huron finished eighth in the 9-team field.

Brayden Byrkeland of Yankton won the medalist honors with a 73. Jack Baszler of Brookings, Will Lockner of Brandon Valley, Cooper Shuman of Brandon Valley and Andrew Heinze of Brookings shared the second spot with scores of 78.

Emrick Dedeyne led the Tigers with a 92, which placed him in a tie for the No. 18 spot. Oaklee Schnable shared the 40th spot with 108.

Rounding out the lineup for Huron were Greysen Gregerson at 112, David Emmert at 117 and Ryker Shelton at 138.
