MITCHELL – Manetta E. Bigge, 90, of Mitchell, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017, at Firesteel Healthcare Center in Mitchell.
A Celebration of Life service will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 25 at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Armour. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, with a 7 p.m. Rosary at the church.
Manetta E. Bigge was born February 20, 1927, in Sioux Falls to William H. and Lydia (Grosz) Blume. She attended country school until she was needed to help her parents on the farm. She was united in marriage to Lawrence H. Bigge October 8, 1947.
She was a busy farm wife and raised six children. She was also active in Altar Society, Armour All Star Hams, Red Hat Club and bowling teams. She had a zest for life and loved to tell jokes and make people laugh. She absolutely loved living in Armour and knew everyone. If she didn’t know someone, it didn’t take long for her to get to know them!
She is survived by her children, Garlan (Beverly) Bigge of Huron; Joanne (Bert) Rabenberg of Mitchell; David (Diana) Bigge of Sioux Falls; Joel (Ladonna) Bigge of Mitchell; Jolene (Dean) Rothenberger of Lennox, and Jay (Lisa) Bigge of Mitchell; 13 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence; and mother- and father-in-law.
