Maren Faye Olsen was born to Roy and Olive Olsen on July 4, 1938, in Roberts County at the Sisseton Hospital.  She attended Sisseton Public and High School. On May 31, 1956, Maren married Ervin Cleveland at Sisseton. While Ervin was serving in Germany, Maren worked in Minneapolis. Upon his return, the couple moved to Huron where Ervin worked at Armour’s Packing Plant. They moved to a farm two miles west of Cavour where they worked as partners in farming for 50 years. They raised three children on the farm. Their grandchildren and great-grandchildren were often at the farm too.
Maren was a member of the Riverview United Methodist Church and taught Bible school when her children were small. She and Ervin also belonged to the Good Sam’s Camping Club. She loved being with her family and spent many fun times camping with family. Maren and Ervin spent twelve winters in Arizona, making lots of friends. She liked to read a lot and did embroidery.
In 2010, Maren and Ervin moved to Huron where they continued to enjoy spending time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Watching her great-grandchildren at their activities was a highlight for Maren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents; her husband, Ervin on April 27, 2017; three brothers, Roy Olsen, Jr., Neal Olsen, and Merle Olsen; one sister-in-law, JoAnn Olsen; and one brother-in-law, Howard Cross.
