HURON — Margaret A. (Myers) Lentz, age 86, October 09, 1934 - December 25, 2020.
Ralph A. Lentz, age 88, March 8, 1933 - April 1, 2021.
Celebrating the lives of Margaret and Ralph Lentz, of Huron, the family invites you to join them on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at 2 p.m. Visitation with family present will be from 1 to 2 p.m., at Faith Lutheran Church, 1510 McClellan Drive in Huron.
Loved ones of Ralph and Margaret Lentz remember the couple for their love of playing cards, building, crafting, but mostly each other. When Marge suffered complications from a surgical procedure, she told loved ones her only hope was to be able to celebrate her 67th wedding anniversary with Ralph on Christmas Eve 2020.
The next day, with Ralph by her side Marge was called home. Ralph’s health steadily deteriorated after the loss until his passing on April 1, 2021.
Marge was born to William and Edna (Smith) Myers on October 9, 1934, in Beadle County. Marge was a dedicated card player. She also enjoyed sharing her cooking skills with others. Another one of her many hobbies was crafting, especially beading. She had handcrafted decor for every holiday and season of the year.
Ralph was born to Theodore and Elsie Lentz on March 8, 1933. Ralph was a road surveyor for the SD State Highway Department for many years. He enjoyed working with his hands, doing woodworking projects and spending time with family. He was also a helping hand to many people with various household projects.
Ralph is a proud Army veteran of the Korean War from 1953-1955. When he returned, Marge and Ralph were able to truly begin their lives together, adding four children to their family, three sons and a daughter. Throughout their years together, Ralph and Marge were also able to invite many foster children into their hearts and home.
In their later years of life, Ralph and Marge enjoyed hitching up their 5th wheel home and heading south to Mission, Texas for the winder. Together they shared a passion for Christ and were dedicated members of the Faith Lutheran Church in Huron.
They leave four children, LaVern Lentz of Huron, Leon Lentz of Sioux Falls, Dale Lentz of Fargo, N.D., and Kimery (David) Van Asperen of Carthage; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and foster children.
