YANKTON — Margaret Ann Daughters, 73, of Yankton, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018, at Avera Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls.
A memorial mass will be 12 p.m. Saturday, May 12, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church inYankton. Burial of her cremated remains will be at a later date in Black Hills National Cemetery at Sturgis. Visitation will be for two hours prior to service at the church.
Margaret Ann Daughters was born on July 2, 1944, at Huron to Leo and Edna (Lovette) Hagen. She received her education near her childhood home, graduating from Huron High School. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree from Huron College and taught elementary school.
She was united in marriage to Roger Daughters in June of 1970, She became a stay-at-home mother and also did daycare in their home for many years until failing health forced her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter, Vanessa (Brett) Carda; her three grandchildren, Alexis, Devin, and Dylan, all of Sioux Falls; siblings, Mary Lee Hagen of Centennial, Colo., Gary Hagen of Custer, Robert Hagen of Henderson, Nev., and John Hagen of Aloha, Ore.; along with other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Daughters; and her parents, Leo and Edna Hagen.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home and Crematory in Yankton.
