LAKE PRESTON — Marian J. Nelson, 96, formerly of Lake Preston, passed away in Lake Norden on Tuesday, February 11, 2020.
Funeral services will be held at the Lake Preston Lutheran Church on Saturday, at 11 a.m., with visitation on Friday, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Lake Preston Lutheran Church.
Burial will be at Clara Cemetery in Erwin at a future date.
Marian Jesse Powell was born on July 31, 1923, to George and Madge (Homewood) Powell.
She married Arnold W. Nelson on June 1, 1948.
Marian is survived by her children, Bill (Jane) Nelson, Wynn (Tim) Clement, Wanda (Joel) Weese, Arden (Carol) Nelson, and Arleen Nelson; her sister, Ethel Jane Zimmer; and sister-in-law, Rose Marie Nelson; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold; brother, George Marvin Powell; sister-in-law, Beverly Powell; and brother-in-law, Raphael “Ray” Zimmer.
