REDFIELD — Marjorie Caroline Naughton, 99, of Redfield, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield.
She will be cremated and buried in the Rockham Cemetery at Rockham, alongside her husband and son. A memorial ceremony will be held this summer at the Rockham Community Center.
Marjorie Caroline Miller was born October 29, 1918, in Rosedale to Paul and Hulda (Rohn) Miller. She was united in marriage to Francis Larry Naughton. She was a devout Methodist and a lover of music. She sang for a brief time in the Sweet Adelines and taught her grandson how to play the organ when he was seven years old. Her grandson went on to be a high school band director. It would be easy to say that her passion for music was shared through her grandson and the hundreds of students he has taught over the past 30 years.
She is survived only by her grandson, Dennis Leo Naughton Jr. of Woodstock, Ga.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 2001; and son, Dennis Leo Naughton Sr. in 1996.
Donations may be made to the Redfield Care and Rehabilitation Center in lieu of flowers. She was a resident there for close to 15 years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield.
