ABERDEEN — Marlene Ruth (Stover) Franks, 82, of Aberdeen, passed away at her home on Friday, March 23, 2018.
Her funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday at Hyke Funeral Home in Redfield, with Reverend Marty Toepke-Floyd officiating. Interment will be at a later date at the Ashton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., today at Hyke Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Family will be present at this time to accept condolences.
Marlene Ruth Stover was born in Redfield to Benjamin Harold and Harriet Lucille (Lenth) Stover on Feb. 26, 1936.
She was married in 1952 to Eugene Franks Sr. in South Carolina.
She was a Ft. Pierre Women of the Moose Chapter 1497 member and was the Senior Regent from 2009 to 2010.
She is survived by her children, James (Roberta) Franks Sr., of Yankton, Russell (Lisa) Franks, of Redfield, Elizabeth Franks, of Aberdeen, Eugene (Tammy Jean) Franks Jr., of Sioux Falls; brother, Jim (Bev Taylor) Stover of Ft. Pierre; sister, Carole Jansen, of Aberdeen; 16 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; infant son, Terrance Eugene Franks; step-grandson, Levi Zens; infant great-grandson, Noah Jasso; and brother-in-law, Roland Jansen.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Hyke Funeral Home.
