MILLER — Marvin Hargens, 84, of Miller, passed away Friday, March 9, 2018, at Clarkson Health Care in Rapid City while receiving end of life care.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, March 17, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery with military honors. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Friday with a 7 p.m. prayer service all at the funeral home.
Marvin was born November 23, 1933, in Hand County to George and Bessie Hargens. He joined the U.S. Air Navy in 1955. He was united in marriage to Donna McCue January 26, 1962. Besides farming, he also worked for Community Oil, Hand County Implement, owned D&M Liquors, and baled hay.
He is survived by his children, Robert (Patsy) LeGrand of St. Lawrence, Susan (Brad) Mareska of Mobridge, Yvonne “Vonnie” (Galen) Tapio of Rapid City, and Connie (Bill) Martinmaas of Reno Nev.; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Charles (Joyce) Hargens, Richard Hargens, Lester (Carolyn) Hargens all of Miller, Raymond (Linda) Hargens of Idaho, Hazel Clement of Miller; sisters-in-law, Lois Hargens, Charlene Hargens, Katherine McCue, and Pam (Dale) Weeder; along with several nieces and nephews.  
He was preceded in death by wife; grandson, Talis Tapio; sisters, Mable Holt, and Eileen Stender; and brothers, George Hargens, and Edward (Decan) Hargens.
