WESSINGTON — Mary Bernadine Hill, 85, of Wessington, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2018, at home.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 26, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wessington. Burial will follow in the Wessington Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. followed by a 7 p.m. prayer service Thursday, all at St. Joseph’s Church in Wessington.
Mary was born October 8, 1932, north of Miller to John and Bernadine (Schlechter) Oligmueller. She graduated from high school from Stephan Mission School. She was united in marriage to Gerald Hanks in 1952, who passed away in 1972, as the result of an accident. She married Vern Hill in 1977. She worked full time in the Wessington School food service, and later the Miller Nursing home. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church and the Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her sons, John, and Don (Linda) both of Wessington, Jerry (Shari) of Rapid City, and James (Denise) of Rapid City; seven grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Rita Kusser of Highmore, Lorraine Gilmore of Buckner, Mo., and Leonard (Marguerite) Oligmueller of Sioux Falls; and numerous loving friends and relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; brothers, Marvin and Roger Oligmueller; and grandson, Nicholas Hanks.
Reck Funeral Home of Miller has been entrusted with Mary’s arrangements.
